About Me
Learn more about me and my background. I'm currently accepting clients for telehealth sessions across Texas, North Carolina, and California.
My Philisophy
Freud is credited with stating that two things really matter in life: love and work. I desire to help people find greater satisfaction with a) their relationships with themselves and others, and b) what they do to make meaning in their lives. I believe passionately in the power of the therapeutic relationship to help you maximize your spiritual, physical, and emotional potential.
I got into the practice of therapy because I personally experienced its potential for helping me to make much-needed changes in my life. My life, loves, and relationships have experienced a richness and depth far beyond my investment in this process as a results of my own ongoing work.
Therapy is not always an easy path, and uncovering the hurts of the past can be painful. Likewise, relationships are often challenging--if you're in them long enough, you'll feel the full range of emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, fear, shame, sexual arousal, and everything in between. People often come to the therapy process with the idea that they want to feel happier. That's all fine in its way, but I usually tell people that I'm not as much interested in helping them feel "good" as I am in helping them to get good at feeling all the "feels", talking about them, and deciding what to do in response to them.
My father once said to me, "If you're going to walk around in people's psyches, you had better always remember that you're on holy ground." I consider the trust that my clients place in me to be a sacred one in the fullest sense of the word.
Theoretically speaking, my work with clients draws primarily on a combination of contemporary psychoanalytic, attachment, and neurobiological perspectives. My primary concern, however, is getting you what you need so that you can achieve the life you seek. I am fully committed to walking with you on your journey toward greater satisfaction and fulfillment.
A Therapist for Gay Men & the LGBTQ+ Community
As a gay man, I bring not only my professional expertise but also a deeply personal understanding of the challenges, joys, and complexities that come with being a gay man and LGBTQ+ today. My lived experience informs every aspect of my therapeutic approach, allowing me to connect with my clients in a way that is both empathetic and authentic. I specialize in issues affecting men, survivors of religious oppression, trauma, addictions, grief and loss, helping professionals and small business owners in developing healthy, vibrant careers, and supporting gay men and lesbians in their quest for maximum fulfillment in their lives.
In our work together, I provide a supportive and non-judgmental space where you can explore challenges you're facing, uncover your true desires, and develop the tools needed to create a life that aligns with your life goals. My approach is not just about addressing immediate concerns, but about fostering long-term growth and resilience. Whether you are seeking clarity in your professional life, deeper intimacy in your relationships, or simply a greater sense of self-acceptance, I am here to guide you on your journey.
